Paris: Where Water is More Expensive than Wine

Paris: The City of Light

Paris: The City where no one will give you tap water and you pay 4 Euros for water and 2.50 Euros for wine.

Not that I'm complaining. It's really good wine.Anyway, on Tuesday, we got up and caught a flight from Barcelona to Paris. We had a driver meet us at the airport (we flew into Orly) and take us to the apartment my friend Yvette recommended. The apartment was perfect! Thanks Yvette!
In the car on the way to the apartment:The road leading to our apartment:Waiting for Crepes at a nearby Creperie:After we got situated in the apartment, we grabbed some crepes for lunch. YUM!
Then, we decided to walk over to the Musee d' Orsay. Our apartment was just around the corner from the Louvre, and Orsay wasn't much farther. Unfortunately, it started torrentially raining on us and it was so windy and cold that the walk was horrible. I felt so sorry for mom because she just had on this thin raincoat and her umbrella kept turning inside out because of the mad wind. Anyway it was worth it. Orsay was my favorite museum in Paris. It contains all kinds of more modern art (from about 1850 on ) including Monet, Toulouse-Lautrec, Degas, Cezanne, Gaugin, Cross (Amanda's favorite), and Renoir. One of the coolest things we saw was Van Gogh's "Starry Night." I loved it. You can't take pictures in there, so I took a ton on the way over (before the hurricane started) and on the way back.

After that, mom was ready to be home, so we went back to the apartment and went to bed.

when your mom was telling us about the huge rainstorm, kenny and luke thought it was hysterical that you said something to the effect of, "where did the hurricane come from." kenny still laughs about.
